Dual Language at Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools
Welcome to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Dual Language page!

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools is proud to offer language programs that prepare students for the 21st century world in which we live. We recognize the need to ensure that our students are well-prepared to excel in a competitive, multilingual environment.

CHCCS currently offers a Mandarin Dual Language program at Glenwood Elementary and a Spanish Dual Language program at Carrboro Elementary School and Frank Porter Graham Bilingüe. Both programs are specially designed to develop students' language proficiency through core academic instruction. Partial dual language instruction is also offered at two of our Middle Schools, Culbreth and McDougle.

For general information about the program see our Dual Language FAQs. Learn how to apply here.

  • Transportation for Dual Language
Families who change address during the school year or over the summer should submit a Change of Address form to the district’s Enrollment office. This information is crucial for the transportation department when arranging bus routes. Once bus routes are set, transportation is not guaranteed to families who change their address, though the transportation team will do their best to accommodate such families.
