A lanterfish has spots on its body that light up. Most of the spots are on the tummy. They can be many colors. Lanternfish can be 6 inches long. Some lanternfish can grow up to 30 inches long. A lanternfish has big eyes.

Lanternfish live very deep in the ocean all over the world. It is dark deep in the ocean.

Lanternfish love shrimp.
