Dr. Thomas A. Forcella became the district’s 23rd Superintendent on July 1, 2011. Dr. Forcella joins CHCCS after six years as the Superintendent of the Guilford Public Schools in Connecticut. Prior to leading the Guilford Public Schools, Forcella served as the Superintendent of the Cape Elizabeth Schools in Maine. Forcella holds a B.S. degree in physical education, an M.S. degree in special education and a 6th year degree in curriculum and instruction, all from Central Connecticut State University. He holds a doctorate in educational management from the University of Bridgeport, also in Connecticut.

Magda Parvey, Assistant Superintendent, Instructional Services

Dr. Magda Parvey joined CHCCS in January of 2012 as the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services. She previously served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction with the West Islip School District in West Islip, NY. She also served as the Principal of North Coleman Road Elementary in Centereach, NY, and as the Assistant Principal of Coman Hill Elementary in Armonk, NY. She was the Executive Director of The Children's Center at SUNY Brooklyn and a Lead Teacher at P.S. 189K, also in Brooklyn. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French from Canisius College; a Master of Science degree in elementary education and a Master of Arts in educational leadership and technology, both from Adelphi University; and a Doctor of Education in administration and supervision from Fordham University.

Rodney Trice, Associate Superintendent, Student & School Services / Equity Oversight

Dr. Rodney Trice, the former Executive Director of Technology and Instruction, is the Associate Superintendent for Student and School Services/Equity Oversight. In this role, Dr. Trice has responsibility for the district's equity initiative, along with student services, health services, athletics, the Exceptional Children's Department and the Pre-K program. Dr. Trice was previously employed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, where he served as a regional Title I consultant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to that, he served as an assistant principal at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough. Before coming to North Carolina, Trice was both the director of and the science department chair at Detroit Community High School in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Trice holds a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia; a masters of education degree in educational leadership from the University of Detroit Mercy; and a doctorate degree in educational leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Todd LoFrese, Assistant Superintendent, Support Services

Todd LoFrese served as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the 3,600 student school district in Watertown, CT, from 2003-2008. In this role, he was responsible for human resources, facilities, technology, child nutrition and transportation. Previously, he served as a business manager for the Connecticut Trade Company and as general manager of Metalguard, Inc. LoFrese hold a bachelor of science degree in economics from Cornell University. He earned an MBA from Baker College and a certificate of administration from Sacred Heart University.

Ray Reitz, Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Ray Reitz joined the district in March of 2000 as the first person to fill the role of CTO. Reitz's professional credits include serving as the director of technology for a school district in Indiana, an instructor and program manager at Indiana University and a supervisory instructional systems specialist with the Department of Defense. Reitz holds a bachelor of arts degree in Broadcasting/Journalism from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He received a master of science degree in Instructional Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. Reitz earned his doctorate in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University in Bloomington.

Jeff Nash, Executive Director for Community Relations

Jeff Nash is no stranger to the Triangle. After nearly 19 years with the Wake County Public School System and two more years with Durham Public Schools, Nash joined the CHCCS team in October of 2012. His experience includes service as a teacher, coach, department chair, school administrator and central office administrator. He is also known locally for his role in hosting educational television shows “The School Connection” and “Full Circle.” He is the Past-President of the North Carolina School Public Relations Association and also served as Southeast Regional Vice President of the National School Public Relations Association. A native of Niagara Falls, New York, Nash earned his Bachelor of Science from Buffalo State College and his Master of Education from North Carolina State University. His book “Rock ‘n Roll Customer Service” was published in 2009.
